About Lisa Kiser

I'm Lisa Kiser, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist serving clients in Arizona and Colorado. I've spent more than three decades in this work, and what I care about most is simple: helping you feel safe, heard, and steady again after something has knocked the ground out from under you.

Much of my practice centers on people who have lived through domestic violence and coercive control. This work is close to my heart because I've walked it myself. As a survivor, I know how confusing and isolating it can feel, and how hard it is to trust your own sense of what happened. That lived experience sits alongside my clinical training, and it shapes how I show up with you: without judgment, without labels, and always at your pace.

I work with adults rebuilding their lives after abuse, as well as kids ages 10 to 12 who are carrying more than they should have to. Together we might map out a clear timeline of your story, rebuild the self-worth that got chipped away, and put real tools in your hands so you can create independence, stability, and safety. I draw on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma-Focused CBT, Motivational Interviewing, and Family Systems work, matching the approach to what you actually need.

People tell me I'm warm, accepting, and easy to talk to. My life and clinical experience have given me a wide awareness of what people carry, and I meet you right where you are. Healing is possible, even after the hardest experiences. If you're ready to take a first step, I'd be glad to walk it with you.
